Norma Aileen Davis

Norma Aileen Davis of Emporia died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Burlington at the Life Center of Burlington.  She was 74.

Norma was born on June 7, 1950, in West End, Illinois the daughter of Grover and Norma (Powell) Berrong.  She married William L. Davis on December 23, 1967.  He died on October 26, 1996, in Emporia.  She later married Howard V. Kirk, Jr.  He died in Emporia on October 31, 2021.

Surviving family members include her sons, William C. (Karen) Davis of Blaine, Washington, and Timothy R. Davis of Emporia; daughter, Mary C. (Matthew) Ames of Chanute; brothers, William Berrong of Oklahoma, and Clifford Berrong of Emporia; thirteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and sisters Pearl Jane Hughes and Peggy Becker.

Norma was an activity director and cook at Holiday Resort Care Center for several years before going to the Eskridge Care Center in Eskridge as the activity director there.  But overall, she was a homemaker, a mom, and a Southern Baptist.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.  Cremation will follow the visitation.  Memorial contributions to the Emporia Friends of the Zoo can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O.
