Norma J. Leonard

Norma J. Leonard, 91 of Emporia, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Sun Rise of Leawood Senior Care.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Mr. Richard Greig will be officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia.

Norma was born February 16, 1928 in Lyon County, Kansas. On June 1, 1947 she married Gene F. Leonard in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. Norma worked at Montgomery Wards for 37 years retiring as the manager of the invoice records department. She was also a lifetime member of Beauceant, a volunteer at Newmans Hospital for over 25 years, and was an active member of the First Christian Church in Emporia.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Gene F. Leonard, daughter in law Dianna Leonard, parents William C. and Sophia A. (Vandearing) Kopke, and two brothers Clifford Kopke and William Kopke. She is survived by her son James Leonard of Overland Park, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas University Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
