Norma M. Schreiner, beloved wife of Raymond, died at her home in Olpe, Kansas on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the age of 79.
Norma Murphy was born in Olpe on January 5, 1935, the daughter of Roy and Lorene (Schmidt) Murphy. She married Raymond Schreiner in Olpe on May 21, 1955. Raymond died July 29, 2014.
Surviving family members include three sons, Craig Schreiner, Brent Schreiner, and Eric Schreiner; two daughters, Kimberly Irwin, and Melanie Kerwin; brothers, Dennis Murphy, and Gary Murphy; sisters, Greta Bone, and Joyce Finley; thirteen grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert Murphy.
Mrs. Schreiner was co-owner of Murphy Oil Company in Olpe from 1962 until retiring in 2008.
She was an active member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe, Saint Anne’s Altar Society, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing Bridge.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe, on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. The Mass will be celebrated by Father John Cordes, of the church. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Olpe.
The Rosary will be recited in the church Saturday morning at 9:00 A.M.
Memorials have been established to the church or for Alzheimer’s care and research. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
