Olivia Dawn Gates, Emporia, Kansas, died November 1, 2024, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was 49 years old.

Olivia was born in Garnett, Kansas, on March 15, 1975, the daughter of Marvin Gates and Elena (Morgan) Barr.

Olivia is preceded in death by her father, grandparents John and Doris Gates, and grandparents Rufina and Frank Morgan.

Survivors include mother, Elena Barr, Emporia, KS; sister Kenzie (Brandon) Timmons, Emporia, KS; nephew Elijah Timmons, Emporia, KS; aunts Shirley Kline, Garnett, KS; Dee (John) Twiford, Wyoming; Philomina Morgan, Rose Hill, KS; uncles Leon Morgan, Oakley, KS; Edwin (Patty) Gates, Olathe, KS; cousins Travis (Reesha) Morgan, Olathe, KS; Damon (Jennifer) Morgan, Texas; Nathan (Kira) Morgan, Olathe, KS; and Ashley (Todd) Glaser, Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic School, and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas, 66801.

The Rosary will be recited Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 7:00 P.M., at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 602 Cottonwood Street, Strong City, Kansas, 66869. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Strong City. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside committal for lunch at the Didde Catholic Campus Center, 1415 Merchant Street, Emporia, Kansas, 66801.
