Paul George Aufleger, 95, of Emporia, Kansas died on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
  
  
  Paul was born on August 12, 1918 in Olpe, Kansas, the son of John and Catherine Resneder Aufleger. He married Ethal Sill on February 14, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. They were married 75 years. She survives of the home.
  
  
  Other survivors include: daughters, Mary Frances Harville of Coushatta, Louisiana, Paula Ann Bowles of Ava, Missouri, Patricia Joesephine Smith of Emporia and Theresa Jane Zicchino of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Lisa Spalding, Shaun Loftin, Stephanie Hoppe, Gwen Lingenfelter, Jaime Brown, and Kerry Foster; and great-grandchildren, Kristen and Jessica Spalding, Joshua Lucero, Chloe, Stella, and Ruby Foster, Max and Samantha Brown, Dustin and Austin Lingenfelter, Katie Hoppe, and Ansley and Kenley Loftin.
  
  
  He is preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
  
  
  Paul was an auto mechanic for over 30 years and operated the Sinclair Station on Albert Street before retiring in 1974. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the DAV and the VFW. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid bowler.
  
  
  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with military honors by Ball–McColm Post #5 American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post #1980 Veteran of Foreign Wars. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
