Paul William Hensley

Paul William Hensley, 90 of Emporia, Kansas died Tuesday, November 13, 2108 at his home surrounded by his family.

Paul was born July 29, 1928 in Emporia, the son of William S. and Ora Bell (Stubbs) Hensley. He was a truck driver for Thomas Transfer for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Paul was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Paul enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

On June 20, 1948 Paul married Shirley Mae Gramke in Olpe, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: sons Michael Hensley of Topeka, Kansas, Timothy Hensley of Emporia, Gregory Hensley of Emporia, daughter Shannon Schumann of Emporia, brother Harold D. Hensley of Emporia, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, daughter Sharon Rhodes, brother Charles Hensley, sisters Esther Hensley, Virginia Hensley, Zella Flynn, Treva Morfitt, Dorothy Jones, and Juanita Bartram.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 19, 2018 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia. Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier will be officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hand-In-Hand Hospice, Messiah Lutheran Church or Emporia Friends of the Zoo and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
