Peter A. Gutierrez, 75, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, Apri 29, 2026 at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas

Peter was born in Emporia, Kansas on April 23, 1951, the son of Pedro and Maria Natividad (Rodriguez) Gutierrez. He married and later divorced Deborah Watts.

He is survived by sons; Peter A. (Kathy Mitchell) Gutierrez, Jr. Lenexa, Kansas, daughters; Melissa Ann (Corey Glenn) Gutierrez, Springfield, Missouri, and Stepdaughter; Amy Watts, Independence, Missouri. brothers; Larry (Bernadette) Gutierrez, Walt Gutierrez, and Arthur Gutierrez, all Emporia, Kansas, grandchildren; Trevon Gutierrez, Alexander Gutierrez, Camrin Glenn, Adayah Glenn, Jhanae Graika, Skylah Mowen, Jakhai Graika, Xavion Gutierrez, Peter Gutierrez, III, Soraya Gutierrez, and Michael Watts, great-grandchildren; Ava Glenn, Ka’Majai Holman, and Naomi Holman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Delores McKnight and brother; Christopher Gutierrez.

Peter was a school custodian in Shawnee, Kansas.

Services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. Cremation will follow. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 6:30 P.M. Friday evening May 8, 2026. Family and friends gather to share memories until 8:00 P.M.
