Philip Matile, 67, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home in rural Americus, Kansas.
Philip Matile, the son of Alfred and Marjorie (Thomas) Matile, was born in Emporia, Kansas on December 16, 1944. He married Dee Redelfs January 14, 1995 at Americus. She survives.
Other surviving family members include his son, Jeff (Rachel) of Americus, stepdaughter, Brooke (Shawn) Wilson, Americus; sister, Elizabeth (Frank) Voorhees, Emporia; sister-in-law, Helen “Tricky” Vincell, Olathe, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Ava Rebecca Matile, and Liam Bo Wilson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jenesse Matile, and a brother, Maurice Matile.
Philip was a farmer/rancher west of Americus. He was a member of Americus United Methodist Church, Americus.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Americus Cemetery, Americus.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, August 1, 2012, from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M.
Memorials contributions to the Americus Volunteer Fire Department, Americus Recreation Organization, or Americus United Methodist Church may be sent in care of the funeral home.
