Phillip Henry Aye

Phillip Henry Aye of Allen, Kansas died on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Diversicare of Council Grove.  He was 87.

Phillip was born on August 12, 1934 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Ralph and Mable Riddle Aye.  He married Geri Kittrell on October 6 1954. They were married for 25 years. He married Janice Sprinkle on August 22, 1981 in Wichita, Kansas until her death on May 11, 2017 in Topeka, Kansas.

Surviving family members include: Cindy (Mike) Rhudy of Emporia, Sheri (Randy) Thurston of Havelock, North Carolina, Debbie (J.D.) Weaver of Emporia, Vicki Padilla and Ray Tait of Topeka, Kansas; Sam (Dawn) Aye of Emporia; step-daughter, Donna (John) Chevalier of Olathe, Kansas; step-son, David (Erika) Sprinkle of Wichita, Kansas; foster daughter Linda Elopre of Florida, 29 grandchildren, and 36 known great-grandchildren; and sister Judy Giddings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Phillip H. Aye, Jr, a granddaughter Maya Padilla , and seven siblings.

Phillip spent 20 years in the United States Navy as an electronic technician and later an instructor before retiring as a chief petty officer in Pensacola, Florida.  He later was self-employed operating his own semi-truck until his retirement.
