Phillip L. Germann, 64, of Emporia, Kansas, died on January 27, 2013 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
Phil was born on March 30, 1948 in Emporia, the son of Ray A. and Virginia F. Springman Germann. He married Linda Sue Heins on December 7, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: sons, Travis Germann, and Phillip L. Germann, Jr. of Emporia; a daughter, Amie Hart of Americus; a brother, Bill A. Germann and wife Marsue of Mount Vernon, Texas; grandchildren, Phillip McKee, Cheyenne McKee, Matt Hart, and Tagen Germann; a great-granddaughter Kassey McKee.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sheila Bright; and a granddaughter, Kasi Hart.
Phil graduated from Emporia High in 1967, where he was active in sports. He was a transport driver for Interstate Brands in Emporia before he retired. Phil liked fishing, playing cards, and enjoying quality time with his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Burial will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia. Visitation will be Thursday evening, January 31, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
