Phyllis Verlene Hartup of Emporia died on Tuesday, January 13, 2021 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia. She was 76.
Phyllis was born on December 12, 1944 in Cedar Vale, Kansas the daughter of Verl Howell and Nila Gordon Howell. She married Larry Dean Hartup on June 4, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas. He survives at the home.
Surviving family members include: husband, Larry Hartup of the home; sons, Jeffrey Scott Hartup of Richland, Washington, and Chad Allen Hartup of Winston Salem, North Carolina; grandson, Zach Hartup; step-grandchildren, Keeley and Bryce Webber.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Phyllis was a surgery nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, and Newman Regional Health in Emporia. After retirement she was a tollbooth worker for the Kansas Turnpike.
Cremation is planned with a private service later.
