R. Bruce Knaak, 66, of Emporia, died at his home Monday, September 26, 2016. Cremation is planned.
Robert Bruce Knaak, the son of Anton N. and Irma Shahan Knaak, was born June 11, 1950 in Hillsboro, Kansas. He married Dee Ann Price on November 8, 1975 in Emporia. She survives of the home.
Other surviving members of the family include a son, Anton N. (Julie) Knaak of Moline, Illinois; a daughter, Angela L. (Lenny Spellman) Wilson of Emporia; two brothers, Richard Knaak of Enid, Oklahoma and John Knaak of Hillsboro; and five grandchildren, Hayley Spellman, Sydney Spellman, Blake Spellman, Oliver Knaak, and Elise Knaak.
Bruce had worked for the Emporia Gazette in the production and advertising departments. He was a member of the Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.
The family will have a Celebration of Life on his birthday, June 11, 2017, with the time and place to be announced. Memorial donations to either Hand In Hand Hospice or the Robert Knaak Scholarship Fund for his grandchildren may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett.
