Randy Lee Edmunds of rural Allen, Kansas passed away Sunday morning at his home surrounded by those he loves. He was 64.
Randy was born on January 31, 1960, the son of Lester and Betty Fitch Edmunds. He married Linda Lea Hopper on April 12, 1980, in Emporia.
Surviving family members include his wife Linda of the home; sons Jakob Edmunds of Council Grove, and Jarrod (Leann) Edmunds of Americus; daughters, Racholle (Tyler) King and Catherine (Scott) Dunn both of Council Grove; Grandchildren, Hailey Line, Kaylen Edmunds, Tyler King Jr., Wyatt Edmunds, Hunter Edmunds, Paxton Edmunds, Kit Dunn, Kase Dunn and, Landy Dunn; mother, Betty Edmunds of Emporia; sister, Cindy (Dean) Drennon of Eudora, brother in law Jerry Schrock of Emporia and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Lester Edmunds, brother Mark Edmunds, and sister Teresa Schrock.
Randy was well known throughout the community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Randy was a jack of all trades from ranching, horseshoeing, welding, building fence and many other skills. Randy was a member and president of the board for Lyon County Fire District #2. His love for hunting, fishing, and trapping will live on through his kids and grandkids.
Cremation is planned. Visitation will take place, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the graveside service Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Bushong Cemetery with burial honors by the Kansas State Funeral Assistance Team.
