Raphael Henry Conrade, 90, of Emporia went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2010, at Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia.
Raphael was born on February 5, 1920, in Olpe, Kansas, the son of Jacob and Bertha Meier Conrade. He married Leona Schmidt on February 21, 1944, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Son, Darrell Conrade (Cynda) of Newton, Kansas
Grandchildren: Jamie (Jason) Hibbs of Winfield, Josiah (Joy) Linkous of Olathe, Jeremy (Tiffany) Linkous of Wichita, Christopher Conrade of Sedgwick, Rene (Adam) Weber of Valley Center, and Ryan Conrade of Newton.
Great-Grandchildren: Malia and Keira Hibbs of Winfield, Landon and Arianna Linkous of Olathe, and Grace Weber of Valley Center.
Brothers: Aloysius Conrade of Rapid City, South Dakota; and Edward Conrade of Emporia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Raymond, and brothers Bernard, Edmund, Edwin, and Albert.
Raphael worked for Merwin’s Automotive for over 30 years as an Autobody Repair Man. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia, Kansas. The service will be conducted by Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier of Messiah Lutheran Church. The visitation will be Tuesday night from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial and Military honors by Ball-McColm, Post #5, American Legion, and Lowry Funston Post #1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery in Emporia. Memorial contributions to the Messiah Lutheran Church can be sent in care to Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
