Raymond Gori, 60, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri after a hard fought 13 year battle against cancer.
Raymond John Gori was born October 5, 1959 in Sebastopol, California, the son of Raymond Gilda and Janet Eileen (Hutton) Gori. On December 29, 1983 Ray married Rhonda Mae Martin. She survives. Ray and Rhonda renewed their wedding vows on June 15, 2019 in a ceremony at their home.
He is survived by his wife, of the home, their children; Melissa (Joshua) Miles, Florence, Alabama, Robert (Brandie) Martin, Lenexa, Kansas, Jaret (Jennifer) Waggoner, Anchorage, Alaska, and Christian Bramow, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, brothers; Stephen (Patti) Gori, Bullhead City, Arizona, Jeffrey (Margaret) Gori, Apex, North Carolina, and William Ray Gori, Pasadena, Texas, and 12 grandchildren; River, Gunner, Evan, Gracie, Houston, Christopher, Addi, Trystyn, Corbyn, Emma, Preston, and Aliena, as well as his dog, Puggee, who he enjoyed taking on motorcycle rides.
His two loves were to ride his Harley, and being a grandpa, often playing video games and Legos with the grandkids. He was known as a man who could bring folks together, and never knew a stranger. Friends were treated like family and always welcome. His loud whisper and even louder voice will be missed. Rhonda loved you a thousand times yesterday, she loves you a thousand times today, and will love you a thousand times tomorrow.
Ray was employed in the cooling tower construction field for 40 years and mentored many young men and women in that field. He was employed by EvapTech in Edwardsville, Kansas, as the Construction Warehouse Manager. He was a member of Moose Lodge #415, Rosamond, California, and the Carpenters Union. He was also an ordained minister in the Christian Church.
It was his wish to be cremated. A Celebration of his life will be held on July 11th (time and location to be determined).
