Raymond Schreiner, 81, Olpe, Kansas, died at his home Tuesday evening, July 29, 2014.
  
  
  
  Raymond was born in St. Peter, Kansas on May 8, 1933, the son of Leo and Lidwina (Riedel) Schreiner. He married Norma Jean Murphy at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe, on May 21, 1955. She survives.
  
  
  
  Family members include: his wife; three sons, Craig Schreiner, Madison, Kansas, Brent Schreiner, Maple Hill, Kansas, and Eric Schreiner, Olpe, Kansas; two daughters, Kimberly Irwin, Tucson, Arizona, and Melanie Kerwin, Olpe; four brothers, Leo, Ben, Marvin, and Melvin Schreiner, all of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Mary Ann Didier, Topeka; thirteen grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
  
  
  
  He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Clara Schreiner, Leona Perrin, and Alvina Konrade.
  
  
  
  Mr. Schreiner was owner of Murphy Oil Company in Olpe from 1962 through 2008, when he retired.
  
  
  
  Raymond was an active member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a member of Olpe Knights of Columbus, Olpe Lions Club, and had been a volunteer with the Olpe Fire Department. For several years, he was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard.
  
  
  
  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe, with Father John Cordes, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Olpe.
  
  
  
  A Rosary will be recited at the church Sunday evening, August 3, 2014 at 6:00 P.M., after which, the family will receive friends.
  
  
  
  Memorials have been established with the Olpe Knights of Columbus Building Fund, or Saint Joseph Catholic Church building fund, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home.
