Emporia

Revenna (Jones Bruner) Eikenberry, 64, died February 10, 2019 at home following a short illness with her husband, Wayne, by her side.  Revenna was born November 21, 1954 in Portland, IN, the eighth child of Polie and Eva (Abbott) Jones.  At nine months of age, she was placed with a foster family and was later adopted by Richard and Wilma (Barrett) Bruner.

Revenna married Wayne S. Eikenberry August 14, 1976 at the Muncie (IN) Church of the Brethren. She attended Ball State University, Muncie, IN and later graduated from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS with a degree in Music Education.  She taught numerous piano students in her home for a few years following graduation.  Revenna had a lifelong love of music and playing her piano.  She loved to travel and plan trips around the country, but didn't get to go as much as she wanted.  Even when traveling became difficult, she continued to plan trips, just in case she had a chance to go again.  The highlight of all her travels was backpacking across Europe for six weeks with two friends in 1986.  In later years, Revenna spent time writing and researching various subjects of interest to her.  Revenna was a member of Scott Valley Church of the Brethren, rural Westphalia, KS.  Since 2007, she was the editor and one of the writers for the church's quarterly newsletter.

Revenna is preceded in death by all her parents and a younger sister, Elaine Jones.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne, seven Jones siblings: Troy (Sandy) Jones, Carmel Jones, Maurice (Kathy) Jones, and Clifford (Madonna) Jones, Dunkirk, IN; Ray (Therese) Jones, Redkey, IN; Caroylene Hodson and Pauliene (Mearle) Allen, Albany, IN; one Bruner sibling: Barbara (Jim) Bachman, Greenwood, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia with the family greeting folks following the service.  The service will be conducted by Pastor Vernon Yoder, Scott Valley Church of the Brethren.
