Richard Blair, Emporia, Kansas, died November 19, 2010 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia, Kansas. He was 80.
  
  
  Richard Blair was born December 1, 1929 at Emporia, Kansas, the son of Earl and Delpha D. (Crain) Blair. He married Eleanor Frances Gamer at Strong City, Kansas on January 23, 1949. She died at Saint Francis Hospital, Topeka, Kansas on February 9, 2003.
  
  
  Surviving family members include: his daughters, Linda Haag and Karen Whittington, both of Emporia, Kansas; Sons, Paul C. Blair, Allen, Kansas; Gregory L. Blair, Lawrence, Kansas; and David L. Blair, Platte Woods, Missouri; one brother, Chester Blair, Miami, Oklahoma; six Grandchildren, five Great-grandchildren (with one on the way).
  
  
  He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
  
  
  Mr. Blair worked for Fanestil Packing Company, then as an independent truck driver, and later as a refrigeration mechanic with Emporia Motor Freight. He retired in June of 1992.
  
  
  Funeral services will be at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The service will be conducted by Pastor Brent McCrory, New Life Christian Church, Emporia. Interment will be in the Rosean Cemetery, north of Emporia.
  
  
  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
  
  
  A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society, with gifts sent to the funeral home.
