Richard Eugene “Dick” Johnson of Olpe, Kansas, entered into rest Friday, March 4, 2016 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was 78.
Dick was born January 31, 1938 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, to Harold “H.M.” and Pearl L. (Wittwer) Johnson. He was a graduate of Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas. He married Mary Irene Phillips January 29, 1960. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved working on his farm, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his wife, of the home; daughters, Richelle Krueger (Roy) of Olpe, and Rhonda White (Chris) of Lawson, Missouri; brothers, Jerry Johnson (Sharon), Booneville, Arkansas, Gene Johnson, Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law, Laura Johnson, Americus, Kansas; grandchildren, Kathryn Kuhlmann (Joshua), Breanna Krueger, Joseph Krueger, Rylie White, and Jackson White; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Kyla and Dane Kuhlmann, and Gracen and Rue Steidley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Johnson, his parents, and his brother, Donald Johnson.
