Rickie Hinrichs, 62, Emporia, Kansas, was found dead at his home on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.
Rickie was born April 2, 1952 in Emporia, the son of William W. and Hazel M. (Vogts) Hinrichs.
He is survived by his sisters, Rita Miller, Osage City, Kansas, and Ella M. Palm, Roeland Park, Kansas; daughter, Soon Lee Hau, South Korea; and six nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, William and Mark Hinrichs.
Mr. Hinrichs was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Layman’s League, and he was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of Reading (Kansas) High School and had worked as a body man at Herm’s Autobody and later Carstar, both in Emporia.
Funeral services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier of the church. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Southwest of Olpe. Military Honors will be presented by Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive friends at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 6, 2015 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the church; contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
