Robert "Mike" Fiehler

January 15, 1953 — February 6, 2018

Robert Michael (Mike) Fiehler (65) passed away on February 6, 2018, at his home. Mike was born January 15, 1953, in Ottawa, KS, and left this world peacefully and with dignity. He is survived by his longtime friend and wife, Lynn Fiehler; his mother, Jerrie Macomber (Robert); his sister, Tari Parmley (Michael); his brother, Kirby Fiehler; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Fiehler, and his father-in-law, Alan Mount.

Mike worked for IBP/Tyson for 44 years, serving as an amazing leader, a thoughtful mentor, and a cherished friend to many. Mike loved his Tyson family, and through his service and dedication, the company was able to continue operations after the restructure in 2008. That will never be forgotten.

Mike had great passion for many things throughout his life; the KC Royals, KU basketball, American Legion baseball, Nascar, fishing, restoring antiques, and his most recent hobby, picking. He was an avid collector of various memorabilia, including memorabilia of people who ultimately became lifelong friends and genuine members of his extended family, bringing him much joy.

Mike also worked quietly behind the scenes as an advocate and supporter of many local organizations, always giving generously from his huge heart. He was a tremendous lover of animals and if you visited him at home, you always knew you would get a hug from him and enjoy lots of dog kisses and slobber from one of his many rescued and/or adopted family members.

Mike was quick witted and was sure to have an answer for anything you threw at him. He loved a good prank and as the master prankster, his pranks were always funny and of course, executed flawlessly. Mike leaves behind a true legacy marked by his candor, his keen business sense, his dedication, his steadfast commitment to the things and people he believed in, his fierce loyalty, and his ability to see potential in others and push them to become their best. The world has been blessed to know Mike and to have so many amazing memories that will last several lifetimes.
