Robert D. Golliher, 94, of Emporia, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Emporia Place, Emporia.
Robert was born on July 9, 1923 at the family home east of Plains, Kansas, the son of Jerry and Verna Geisinger Golliher. He married Eileen Heinson on December 18, 1942 in Meade, Kansas. She died on July 18, 2014 in Emporia.
Survivors include: daughter, Donita Quirarte of Emporia; son, Richard Golliher and wife Becky of Aiken, South Carolina; sisters, Margaret Holt of Ulysses, and Genevieve George of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother, Charlie Golliher of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by wife of 70 years Eileen, daughter Patricia Ann, brother Roy and a sister Agnes.
Mr. Golliher was a farmer, welder, and machinist in Meade, Lyon, and Chase Counties. He was employed by Sauder Tank Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a trustee for several years.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Emporia with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Cremation will follow the service, with burial at Graceland Cemetery, Meade, Kansas at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2017. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association can be sent in care of the funeral home.
