Robert L. “Bub” Kewley, 88, Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas

Robert Lyle Kewley was born in Winner, South Dakota on September 7, 1937, the son of William and Mary (Schulz) Kewley. Bub and Judith Tuxhorn were married at Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia, Kansas on February 9, 1964. She survives. Other family members include their sons; Mark Kewley of Wamego, Kansas and Jason Kewley, Reading, Kansas. sisters; Phyllis Talkington, Matfield Green, Kansas, Delores Conley, Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, and Jean McElfresh, Emporia, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; James Kewley, and sister; Carol Horton.

Bub was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia, Kansas. In the past he had been active with the scouting program at the church and had served as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop #165. He was an enthusiastic gardener. Raising various types of fruits and vegetables. He was a longtime retiree from Fanestil’s Meats.

Funeral Services will be at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Kansas on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Brenda Ulrich and Pastor Debbie Senters. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
