Robert Everett McNeese, 64 of Emporia, Kansas died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his home.
Robert was born October 9, 1951 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of William Everett and Blanche (Munsell) McNeese. He worked as a Lieutenant with the Emporia Police Department for 11 years and then as the Security Manager at Iowa Beef Processors. He was currently employed in Maintenance at Simmons Pet Food.
Robert enjoyed anything automotive, a passion that began at an early age. In developing his hobby into a skilled trade, Robert created several award-winning custom street rods. He passed his love and knowledge of custom automotives on to his two sons. Together, Robert and his sons established a successful business when they opened McNeese Customs in 2005. Robert enjoyed spending as much time as he could with friends and family. He ensured there was never a dull moment whenever they were together, always having a story to tell.
Robert married Karen Elson on November 9, 1979 in Emporia, Kansas, they later divorced. He is survived by his two sons, Chance McNeese and his wife Chelsea, both of Emporia and Charles McNeese and grandson Jax Ryder McNeese, also of Emporia. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles William McNeese.
Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Wilsey Cemetery in Wilsey, Kansas. Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia will be officiating.
