Robert "Bob" Clifford Mundy of Admire, Kansas passed away at age 73 on February 27, 2017 at his home. Bob was born on July 19, 1943 to Reuben Clifford Mundy and Edna Mae (Anderson) Mundy at his childhood home in Admire. He was an only child.
Bob ("Bobby" in his younger years) grew up in the very small town of Admire, which during that time was a very self-sustained town nestled near the Flint Hills, and had everything a town needed. Bob had a wonderful childhood and attended school there. He helped his father run Mundy Service Station in Admire. Bob was united in marriage to Judith "Judy" Alice Weeks on December 27, 1964 in Belvue, Kansas. Together they raised two boys near Bob's parents' home (which was Bob's childhood home) in Admire, and Bob took over Mundy Service when Bob's father retired. Bob and his sons ran the service station for many years until the station closed in the mid 1990's.
Bob loved the outdoors, car racing, hunting, fishing, camping, and working on cars and trucks. He passed many of these loves on to his boys and three grandchildren, to whom he was very devoted. When his wife Judy retired in 2014, the two stayed home most of the time and just enjoyed each other's company, as well as visits from family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Edna Mae Mundy, and by his wife of 51 years, Judy Mundy, who passed away June 3, 2016. He is survived by his sons Robert Mundy and wife, Vikki, of Garnett, Kansas, and Tony Mundy and wife, Joanne, of Yreka, California, as well as his three grandchildren, Rachel, Grant, and Olivia Mundy of Garnett, Kansas.
