Robert E. Peterson, 52, Emporia, Kansas, died at his home on Tuesday, September 27, 2011.
Robert was born at Manhattan, Kansas on November 2, 1958, the son of Lyle E. and Alma A. (Park) Peterson. He married Kolleen Dierking at Clay Center, Kansas, on July 11, 1981. She survives of the home.
Other surviving family members include his children: Jake Peterson, Emporia, Emily Peterson and Scott Peterson, both of Manhattan, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Peterson was a 1976 graduate of Clay Center Community High School, Clay Center, Kansas, and later of Manhattan Area Vocational Technical College, where he majored in drafting. After school, he worked for Didde Web Press Corporation in Emporia, until that firm closed. He then worked for KEPCo (Kansas Electric Power Cooperative) in Topeka until March of this year.
Cremation is planned.
Memorial Services will be Monday, October 3, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier, Messiah Lutheran Church. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2011, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
