Robert Lee Schaefer

Robert "Bob" Lee Schaefer of Emporia, died on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Homestead Living in Emporia.  He was 89.

Bob was born on October 12, 1935, in Emporia, Kansas the son of Clinton Alta and Grace Eloise Loose Schaefer.  He married Darlene Jane Gilbert on June 4, 1955, at the Calvery United Methodist Church in Emporia.  She died on November 28, 2009.

Surviving family members include his son, Brian (Gena) Schaefer of Neosho Rapids; daughters, Sondra (John) VanSickle of Reading, and Debra Siegele of Colleyville, Texas grandchildren, John Robert (Jamie) VanSickle, Nathan (Natalie) Siegele, Lee (Heather) Schaefer, Kegan VanSickle, Melissa (Andrew) Lawver, Ashley ( Kevin) James, and Sarah (Brandon) Parra; 14 great-grandchildren with 1 great-great grandchild on the way.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister Kathleen Farthing.

Bob owned Schaefer Equipment Dealership and was a lifelong farmer.  He belonged to the Westside Baptist Church, National Cattlemen's Association, Kansas Livestock Association, and the Farm Bureau.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Westside Baptist Church, Emporia with burial following at Mt.
