Robert “Bob” W. Rankin, 68, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away March 2, 2013 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
Bob was born on November 3, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Eugene Walker and Alberta Cannon Rankin. He received Bachelor of Science Degrees in both History and Library Science from Emporia State University.
He is survived by a brother, George Rankin of Kansas City, Missouri; and a sister, Sharon Rankin Stotler of DeSoto, Missouri.
Bob was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. He had been employed as a supervisor at IBP, Emporia; then later at Thomas Transfer and Storage of Emporia; and also the City of Emporia.
Cremation is planned, with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
