Robert Lee Widau, 89, of rural Eskridge, Kansas passed away on April 17, 2011.
  
  
  Robert was born on April 21, 1921 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Walter W. and Bernice Haas Widau. He married Betty Cary on April 06, 1947 in Eskridge, Kansas. She died on March 28, 1976.
  
  
  Other survivors include: a daughter, Tammy Schmidt and husband Rick of Topeka, Kansas, and their children Kassie Posladek (Sam) of Prairie Village, Kansas, Tanner Schmidt of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Skyler Schmidt of Topeka, Kansas; son, Tim Widau and wife Shelly of Eskridge, Kansas, and their children Madison and Mackenzie Widau of the home; and one brother Harold Widau of Carbondale, KS.
  
  
  He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
  
  
  Robert was a rancher and also managed a ranch for Robert W. Wagstaff since 1961. He was a World War II Veteran in the United States Army, and also a member of the American Legion in Eskridge. Robert was one of the three founders of the Eskridge Labor Day Rodeo.
  
  
  The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Eskridge United Methodist Church in Eskridge. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday evening, April 25, 2011, at the church. Burial will be at the Eskridge Cemetery with military honors by Lowry-Funston Post #1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion.
  
  
  Memorial contributions to the Swimming Pool Fund in Eskridge may be sent in care of the funeral home.
