Mentor, Instructor, and Coach Bob Williams of Allen, Kansas died on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at his home.

Robert Lee Williams was born on November 25, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of John Junior and Nellie Koons Williams.  He married Shirley J. Van Dyne on June 26, 1966, in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Surviving family members include his wife Shirley of the home; sons, Larry Williams of Missouri, Patrick Williams of Belleville, Wisconsin; daughters, Marsha Crossett of Wichita, and Nancy Thompson of Allen, Kansas; grandchildren, Andrea Parrott, Meghan Thompson, Ariana Williams, Menolly Crossett, Alexander Williams, Courtney Robinson, Ewen Williams, Aubrey Williams and Aiden Williams; great-grandchildren, Daniel Williams, Abigail Parrott and Ivy Porter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother John Joseph Williams.

Robert was an instructor in many Kansas schools including Cherryvale, Powhattan, Northern Heights, and Lyndon High Schools and the Topeka Youth Correctional Facility. He also served has an adjunct instructor for Allen County Community College and Flint Hills Technical College.

He was an Eagle Scout and achieved the God and Country Award through the Boy Scouts of America, served in the United States Navy from July 1, 1968 to April 9, 1970 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Council Grove.

Robert bequeathed his body to the University of Kansas for medical science.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
