Rodney Dale Pattison, 67, of Emporia, Kansas, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at his home.
  
  
  Rodney was born on June 13, 1946 in Council Grove, Kansas, the son of E. Dale and Charlene Morgan Pattison. He married Judy K. Huff on January 23, 1965 in Council Grove. She survives.
  
  
  Other surviving family members include his son, Rodney M. Pattison of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Tammy Black and husband Michael of Emporia; five grandchildren, Cody Black, Halston Pattison, Tanner Black, Veronica Pattison, and Virginia Pattison; his mother, Charlene Pattison Beagel of Council Grove; a stepmother, Bessie Pattison of Council Grove; and a brother, Tad Pattison of Council Grove.
  
  
  He is preceded in death by his father E. Dale Pattison.
  
  
  Rod was a diesel mechanic for 40 years in the Emporia area for Detroit Diesel, the City of Emporia, Redline, and Kansas Motor Freight. He later went on to be a Service Advisor at Longbine Auto Plaza before retiring in 2010. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Emporia.
  
  
  Cremation is planned, with a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Please feel free to dress casually, with your favorite sports attire. You can dress up, just tell everyone you’re representing a coach, agent, or owner. Game on.
  
  
  The family requests no flowers, with memorial contributions instead, to Hand in Hand Hospice or Emporia Friends of the Zoo, in care of the funeral home.
