Roger Dean Anderson, 68 of rural Americus, Kansas died Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Diversicare of Council Grove.

Roger was born June 4, 1955 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Donald and Elsie (Nielsen) Anderson. He was a farmer. Roger was active in the Americus community, enjoyed playing the trumpet and played “Taps” for Memorial Day Services in towns around the area. Roger worked with the state of Kansas to do wildlife research. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking and played football for Emporia State University.

On August 2, 1975 Roger married Jacqui Simmons in Wichita, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include: sons Jarod Anderson and wife Julie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cory Anderson and wife Emma of Americus, daughter Mindy Grossenbacher and husband Nathan, Sr. of Council Grove, Kansas, sisters Roxie Pearson of Americus, Julie Biron of Sun Lakes, Arizona, Denise Porter of Bonner Springs, Kansas, brother Lee Lowe of Tonganoxie, Kansas, and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his birth mom Betty Park Lowe.

Cremation is planned and services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Emporia Granada Theatre.
