Roger Lee Carter, 57, of Emporia, Kansas, died on February 7, 2012 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
Roger was born on April 29, 1954 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Lee Alexander and Lillian Marie Armagost Carter. He married Teresa Long on July 26, 1975 in Graham, Missouri, they later divorced. He then married Mary Frantz on April 1, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They later divorced.
Survivors include: mother, Lillian Carter of Maryville, Missouri; sons, Dallas Aaron Carter of Maryville, Christopher Anthony Frantz of Seattle, Washington, and Roger Lee Alexander (Alex) Carter of Emporia; daughter, Dakota Mariah Carter of Emporia; granddaughter, Tessa Avalynn Carter of Austin, Texas; and bother, Rick Carter of Maryville.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Roger was a truck driver for many years at Interstate Bakeries and Precision Industries, both in Emporia. In his later years, he was the assistant manager at Finish Line gas station on 18th Avenue in Emporia.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Pastor Hal Lewis of Emporia will conduct the service. The family requests no memorial contributions.
