Roger Wayne Troutner, 45, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away October 30, 2013 at his home.

Roger was born on October 8, 1968 in Goodland, Kansas, the son of Dallas Ira and Vivian Irene Pears Troutner. He married Deanna Lynn Shearer on September 14, 1996 in Norton, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: his sons, Jordan Wayne Troutner and James Ira Troutner, both of Emporia; daughter, Lora Kathleen Troutner, Emporia; brothers, Joe Troutner of Liberal, Kansas, Lee Troutner of Almena, Kansas, and Dallas Troutner, Jr. of Fairbury, Nebraska; sisters, Patricia Santillanes of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Mary Boyce of Lenora, Kansas, Anna Hatfield of Scott City, Gayle Alexander of Almena, Kansas, and Cindy Hammond of Long Island, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Roger was a field supervisor in telecommunications for 19 years, working for Valu-Line, Birch, Stutler Technologies, and Valu-Net. He served in the United States Navy, and was a Gulf War Veteran. He was a member of Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was also a Cub Scout leader.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Emporia. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, with military honors by Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion, and Lowry-Funston Post #1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday evening, November 4, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The memorial fund will be designated at a later date.
