Ronald Lee Deere of Emporia died on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was 68.
Ronald was born on May 3, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas the son of Edison Ralph and Leota Mae Wylie Deere. He married Vickie Eileen Clark on August 25, 1984 in Prescott, Kansas. She survives.
Surviving family members include: wife, Vickie E. Deere of Emporia; sons, Samuel Deere of Wichita, Noah and Avery Deere both of Emporia; granddaughter, Zaylee Anne Marie Deere of Binkleman, Nebraska; brother, Edison Ralph Deere, Sr. of Tacoma, Washington; sister, Deloris Sharp of Portland, Oregon.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was a dispatcher for the Emporia State Police Department for over 20 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Leo Council 727.
Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Emporia. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.
