Ronald Lorenz Douglas

Ronald Lorenz Douglas of Emporia died Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.  He was 75.

Ron was born on March 12, 1949, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Keith and Doris Nielsen Douglas. He married the love of his life Becky Marin on August 15, 1981, at the First Christian Church in Emporia.  She survives.

Ron attended Emporia High School and graduated with the class of 1967. He attended Butler County Community College on a scholarship from Ford Motor company under the technical scholarship program. He graduated with an associate of applied science degree. He continued his education at the Kansas State College of Pittsburg and received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology.

Ron and Becky are members of the Flint Hills Bible Church in Emporia, Kansas.  Ron was very active in many volunteer positions at Flint Hills Bible Church.

Surviving family members include his wife Becky of the home; daughter Kimberly (Mike) LoPorto of Emporia; son, Kelly (Megan) Douglas of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Nova Douglas, Kaelynn LoPorto, Leo Douglas, Finn Douglas and Makayla LoPorto, brother Dennis Douglas of Emporia.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Douglas

Ron was a Mechanic at Emporia Motors before going to work for the Emporia Public Schools USD#253. He was a member of the Sertoma club and loved being able to drive the little train for all events.

Cremation is planned. Services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 22, 2024, at Flint Hills Bible Church in the worship center in Emporia.  A visitation will follow the service.  Memorial contributions to the Flint Hills Bible Church can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home P.O.
