Ronald D. Rowe, Emporia, and formerly of Strong City, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia, Kansas at the age of 85.
He was born April 20, 1933 at (Guessing Manhattan, KS), the son of Charles Henry and Flossie Louisa (Keech) Rowe. He married Peggy Ann Rickstew in 1952. They divorced. He later married Doris (Dains) Jensen, She survives of Emporia.
Family members include sons; Michael and Wesley, daughters; Wanda L. Simmer and Susan Ellis, Step-daughter; Shirley Jensen, Step-son; Jerry Mallory, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Rowe served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a cowboy and ranch hand for several years and enjoyed trail rides.
The family will receive friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 21 at 1:00 P.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Manhattan. Military Honors will be presented by the United States Army, Fort Riley, Kansas.
