Rosemary M. Kelso, 72, of Emporia, Kansas, died on May 16, 2012 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.
Rosemary was born on August 27, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Mabel Free Flander. She married Ken Kelso on October 26, 1984 at Ranch House Club in Emporia. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include: son, Emery Wagoner of Emporia; daughters, Gerri Davis of Alpine, Texas, Anita Pape of Wellington, Kansas, Vicki Buttle of Ottawa, Kansas, Robin Farmer of Lorton, Virginia, Angie Kelso of Lawrence, Kansas, and Jodi Woydziak of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; brothers, Don Flander of What Cheer, Iowa, Jim Flander of Pleasantville, Iowa, and Rick Flander of Tracy, Iowa; sisters, Lorna Flander of Beacon, Iowa, Lou Krusemark-Albers of Van Horne, Iowa, and Gina Smith of What Cheer, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jamie Pape; and a brother, Larry Dannels.
For many years, Rosemary was the manager of Ranch House Club in Emporia, before retiring in January 1998. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1980 Woman’s Auxiliary, Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2587 Auxiliary, and Abdallah Shrine Temple Dragon Ladies of Kansas City, Kansas. Rose was known for her open arms and loving heart.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 21, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, with Pastor Leonard Wagner of the Church of God of Prophecy conducting the service. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the funeral home. The family requests no flowers, and suggests memorial contributions to the Arab Shrine Temple Travel Fund for transportation to a Shrine Hospital for children, in Rose’s name, be sent in care of the funeral home.
