Ross James Bjordahl, the son of Cecil A. and H. Imogene Davis Bjordahl was born on March 1, 1956 in De Smet, S.D. He married Pamela A. Vogts on February 14, 1985 in Emporia. She survives of the home.

Ross was born and raised in De Smet, South Dakota and was baptized in the American Lutheran Church on May 6, 1956. He loved to go back to South Dakota to visit family and friends as often as he could. He made his way to Kansas in 1977 while working for Sheesley Construction as a heavy equipment operator. During his life he continued to operate heavy machinery for various construction and cement companies, and to many was considered the best that could run any machinery he got into. At the time of his passing, he was working for the Lyon County Road and Bridge Department.

An early hobby was helping friends show Charolais cattle. He took great pride in any work that he did. Ross would talk about sports to anyone who would listen and he loved KU basketball. His greatest love was his three grandchildren. He loved to watch his grandchildren play each and every sport the participated in. He wouldn’t miss a game.

Surviving members of the family include: his wife, Pamela; a son Brian (Melissa) Vogts of Olpe; two sisters, Mary Beth (Bob) Jacobson and Cecile (Merle) Wollman both of Sioux Falls, SD; step-mother Vivian Bjordahl of De Smet, SD; a step-sister, Gale Fike of Mead, CO; a step-brother, Mark (Kathy) Norgaard of Volga, SD; and three grandchildren, Caleb, Spencer and Brogan Vogts of Olpe.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Imogene; and two sisters, Dawn Gunn and Kandy Spencer.
