Ruby Lee Slappy

Ruby Lee Slappy of Emporia died on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Burlington Life Center in Burlington.  She was 86.

Ruby was born on February 2, 1937, in Americus, Georgia the daughter of Essie and Anna Hill Perry.

Surviving family members include sons, Johnny B. Slappy of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Larry Slappy of Detroit, Michigan, and Alphonso Slappy of Emporia, Kansas; daughters, Ann Joyner of Pflugerville, Texas and Bernell Lundy of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four grandchildren, and fifteen brothers and sisters.

Ruby was a self-employed Housekeeper and Cook.

Cremation is planned with a Memorial service later in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.  Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home oversees the Emporia arrangements.
