Rubye Cathryn Buster, 103, of Emporia died on January 27, 2016 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor, Emporia.
Rubye was born on May 7, 1912 in Tullahoma, Tennessee the daughter of Joe and Forrest Hoover Poe. She married Elmer Lee Buster on February 12. 1933 in Arkansas City, Kansas. He died on September 18, 1990 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: son, Robert L. Buster of Emporia; daughter, Barbara J. Haitbrink and husband Bob of Anaheim, California; grandchildren, Heather Cook and husband Troy of Woodlands, Texas, and Hunter Haitbrink and wife Barbara of Norco, California; and great-grandchildren, Chase Heitbrink, and Jade Hull.
She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Murray Poe, Lavenda Poe, and Arthur Poe; and a sister, Lurlene Cullers.
Rubye was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, PEO, and an avid bridge player.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Patio Garden at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
