Ruth E. Barnhart, 93, of rural Emporia, Kansas, died on June 13, 2012 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.

Ruth was born on September 21, 1918 near Lebo, Kansas, the daughter of Marion and Luella Arb Keller. She married Tyrus Barnhart on October 25, 1935 in Burlington, Kansas. He survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Larry and Robert Barnhart, both of Emporia; grandchildren, Ginger Williamson, Tom Barnhart, Troy Barnhart, Michelle Shepherd, and Les Barnhart;
great-grandchildren, Clint Barnhart, Kyle Barnhart, Katie Barnhart, Megan Barnhart, Derek Barnhart, Brian Williamson, Rachel Krueger, Brenda Williamson, Tyler Barnhart, and Allyx Barnhart; and great-great-grandchildren, Aspen and Kassidy Krueger.

She is preceded in death by a grandson, Larry W. Barnhart; a great grandson, Ty Colton Barnhart; her brothers, Earnest, Alvie, and Clifford Keller; and a sister, Viola Cramer.

Ruth was a homemaker and a tax preparer for H&R Block in Emporia from 1966 until retirement in 1985. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia, and the LWML of the church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Messiah Lutheran Church. The service will be conducted by Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier of the church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Neosho Rapids, Kansas.

A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Robert-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
