Ruth Brewington, 100, Emporia, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.
Ruth Baird was born in Emporia on June 2, 1912, the daughter of Thomas E and Nina (Dukes) Baird. She married James R. Brewington at Emporia on October 23, 1938. He died February 11, 1991 in Emporia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Earl Baird.
She is survived by her close friend, Carol Redding of Emporia.
Mrs. Brewington was a housewife, and earlier in her life had worked at the Lerick Theatre, Hallmark Card Factory, and Newman Department Store all in Emporia. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Emporia.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Patio Garden of Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, conducted by Pastor Roy Ferguson of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
