Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, Emporia, Kansas, for Ryan Hutchinson Seastrom, who died Monday evening, October 29, 2012, in Emporia at the age of 35. The service will be conducted by Pastor Jeannie Jensen of the church. Cremation will follow services. Ryan’s family will receive friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Friday evening, November 2, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Ryan was born in Topeka, Kansas on July 31, 1977, the son of Jeff L. and Vickie (Chenoweth) Seastrom.
He is survived by his parents of Emporia; sister, Abbigale Seastrom, Topeka; grandparents, Walt and Joan Seastrom, Auburn, Kansas, and Nellie Chenoweth, Emporia; two nephews, Tyler Seastrom and Taegen Starkey; and a niece, Arionna Seastrom.
Ryan was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Harold Hinck and Melvin Chenoweth.
A graduate of Emporia High School, Ryan attended UTI in Phoenix, Arizona, studying Computer Aided Design and Engineering. For the past three years, he was employed at Country Mart North, where he was the manager of the deli. He was a Second Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and was an avid bowler.
Memorials have been established with the Youth Bowling Program at Flint Hills Lanes and also with the Emporia High School Bowling Team. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
