Jeane Davis, 87, formerly of Bushong, Kansas, died on December 20, 2012, at the Jones Health Center of Presbyterian Manor, Emporia, Kansas, surrounded by her family.
Jeane was married to S. Max Davis, Bushong, on May 9, 1945, in Woodland, California. They lived in the Bushong-Council Grove area for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mac H. and Grace V. Millison and her husband, Max Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally Burri and her husband, Darrel of Williamsburg, Virginia; her son, J. Scott Davis and his wife Karen of Council Grove; five grandchildren, Ashly Burri Rogers and husband, Greg of Elkton, Maryland, Chris Burri and his wife Emily, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Kari Roberts and her husband, Brock, Wichita, Kansas, Preston Davis, and Brennan Davis, Council Grove; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren Rogers and Cameron Rogers of Elkton, Maryland.
Jeane was a member of the Council Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Esther Circle of the United Methodist Women. She was an active member of the Bluestem Cowbells affiliated with the Kansas Livestock Association.
Jeane was a 50-year member of Miriam Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star, where she served her chapter as Worthy Matron, Associate Matron, various points on the star, and District Aide.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on December 28, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Interment will follow in Bushong Cemetery. A visitation will be held on December 27, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
