Sandra S. Atchison, 77, of Emporia died Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home. Cremation is planned with a private family service held later.
Sandra Sue Johnson the daughter of Vernon and Elizabeth Williams Johnson was born August 25, 1940 in Emporia. She married Kenneth M. Saffer on November 26, 1960 in Emporia. They later divorced. He died on November 16, 2001 in Great Bend. She later married Walter E Atchison on September 7, 1976 in Miami, Oklahoma. He also preceded her in death on May 3, 2002.
Sandra was a homemaker and was raised Baptist.
Surviving members of the family include, a son, Ken Saffer of Emporia; four daughters, Liz Steele of Olathe, Shirley Atchison of Emporia, Wanda Garcia of Dodge City, and Brenda Love of Buhler; two sisters, June Postlewait and Donna Walker both of Oregon; 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren also survive.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother Bert Johnson; and two sisters, Betty Posthlewait and Doris Forste and two grandchildren.
