Scott Earl Sumpter

Scott Earl Sumpter of Americus, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was 46 years old and 21 days.

Scott was born on June 20, 1980, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Lloyd Earl Sumpter and Marjory Kay Mustermann.

He is survived by his mother, Marjory (Robert) Scrivner of Americus; father, Lloyd Sumpter of Council Grove; brother Brian Sumpter of Tennessee; sisters, Jennifer Sumpter and Marissa (Chad) both of Tennessee, Crystal (Travis) Marcotte of Allen, and Jacinda Scrivner of Americus as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and aunts and uncles.

Scott spent his best days on the river fishing with friends. He possessed a nurturing soul and always made sure the little ones felt safe and loved.

Cremation is planned with a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Church of Christ in Emporia. Private burial will be later at the Americus Cemetery.
