Sharon Kay Hoskins

Sharon Kay Hoskins, 64, of Emporia died on Friday, August 24, 2018 at her home.

Sharon was born on November 19, 1953 in Newton, Kansas the daughter of Howard and Daisy Richert Mosiman.  She attended and graduated school in Whitewater, Kansas.  Sharon married Randall Hoskins in Emporia in 1973.  He survives of the home.

Surviving family members include: daughters, Kara Hoskins of Brooklyn, New York, and Meagan Hoskins Collar of Gardner, Kansas; brothers, Ben Mosiman of Newton, Kansas, Bill Mosiman of Mound Ridge, Kansas, and Russ Mosiman of Olathe, Kansas; sisters, Bonnie Schmidt of Hesston, Kansas, Vickie Voth of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Pat Embry of Ft. Collins, Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Sharon was a quilter and seamstress for 25 to 30 years.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Quilting Guild, and was a long arm quilter for the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

Cremation is planned with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service.  If you have a quilt she made, you are welcome to bring it to the service and share it with the family since she touched so many with her quilting. Private burial will be at a later date at the Missionary Church Cemetery, Elbing, Kansas.  Memorial contributions to the Quilts of Valor or Emporia’s Quilt Guild can be sent in care of the funeral home.
