Shirley Marie Papps, Emporia, Kansas, died June 19, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Shirley was born on February 12, 1936, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of John Lester and Dorothy (Barnett) Cramer. She married Clinton Richard Eubank, and later divorced. Shirley later married Harry K. Papps in Emporia, Kansas, and he passed in 2004.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Eubank, Emporia, Kansas; stepson Edward L (Sharon) Papps, Edinburgh, Texas; stepdaughter Dee Ann (Laird) Will, Post Falls, Idaho; granddaughter Andrea Eubank, Emporia, Kansas; grandson Jordan Eubank, Emporia, Kansas; great-granddaughter Alexa Eubank, Emporia, Kansas; and seven additional grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley acted as a foster mom to the Emporia State University baseball team, from 1976 to 1980. She always made sure to take care of the players. She worked at Dillons in Emporia. Shirley also had been a volunteer Pink Lady at Ranson Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas, and also served on the ladies Auxillary for the VFW there as well.
She is preceded in death by her son Mark Alan Eubank, stepson John Papps, sisters Areta Latimer, Carolyn Beeler, ex-husband Clinton Eubank, husband Harry Papps, parents, and her grandparents.
Cremation is planned, with memorial service at a later date.
