Sterling “Steve” Edward Sippola, 95, of Emporia, Kansas, died May 9, 2016 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Sterling was born on April 25, 1921 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, the son of John and Mary Paaka Sippola. He married his loving wife, Marie B. Bellamy, on March 10, 1946 in Syracuse, New York. She died on August 31, 2015 in Emporia.
Survivors include: son, Timothy Sippola of Emporia; daughters, Annie Omens of Rancho Santa Fe, California, and Pamm Callan of Altadena, California; as well as six grandchildren, Alison Omens of Washington, D.C., Amy Joy Omens of New York, New York, Kelli Sippola of Washington D.C., Christopher Callan of Hermosa Beach, California, Drew Callan of Altadena, California, and Devin Callan of Chico, California.
His wife, a daughter, his parents, and six siblings precede him in death.
Sterling served in the United States Army in the Office of Strategic Services during WWII. He primary occupation was in door-to door and real estate sales. Following retirement, his passion was the buying and selling of antiques.
Cremation in planned with a private service at a later date. Burial will take place at the Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California. Memorial contributions to Friends of the Presbyterian Manor can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
